Job Title: Program Manager, Growth Program

 

Location: Indianapolis/Marion County

Terms: Salaried, Full-Time (38-40 hours per week)

Starting Salary: $48-55,000 annually with room for growth

 

Job Summary: Home Repairs for Good, formerly NeighborLink Indianapolis, is actively seeking a Program Manager to build and guide our Growth Program. This workforce development program seeks to develop skilled workers in the areas of residential remediation of lead paint, shell-insulation/weatherization, and basic home repair skills. The Program Manager will both be a leader in these skills, helping guide technicians on job sites and doing the work with them, but also have an interest in helping individuals succeed for their own future career growth and success.


As a Program manager, the ideal candidate must be able to work both independently and within a collaborative team-environment, help build a team through inclusion and mentorship, display a high level of organization and time management, have excellent communication and computer skills and a strong desire to see individuals succeed. For the right candidate, this position holds significant growth potential.

Home Repairs for Good is a nonprofit whose mission is to help older adults and individuals with disabilities age in place safely. We do this by providing home repairs at no cost to the homeowner. The Growth Program is the opportunity to provide home repair and related services to other organizations providing owner-occupied repairs to their clients. Those organizations provide payment for our services and that payment helps support our own home repair program.
 

Program Leadership tasks:

  • Helping to guide and improve the overall program as it grows

  • Assist in recruitment of hourly technicians

  • Mentoring technicians and helping guide them in their career/personal goals

  • Collaborating with NLI Leadership team to continuously improve operational processes

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily activities and operations of the Growth team

  • Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations and guidelines for jobs

  • Provides guidance and direction to technicians, evaluates performance, assesses and helps complete projects.

  • Conducting inspections/assessments/Reports

  • Interacts and works with clients in a professional, respectful manner

  • Identifying, planning, and estimating cost of fieldwork to help support program sustainability and meet client’s needs. 

  • Leading the technicians on job sites with a commitment to workplace health and safety

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; supplemented by three to five years previous experience in carpentry, construction, contracting, home rehabilitation,  or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

  • Valid driver's license

  • Good communicator - email, phone, in-person

  • Team player, able to collaborate and encourage others while also being willing to lend a hand

 

Qualifications - having some of the following already is ideal. Being willing to be certified in the following is necessary:

  • Lead Certification - safety, remediation

  • IN-CAA Smart Weatherization team lead and related certifications

  • Certified Age in Place Specialist 

  • Other certifications as needed
