Whew! 2020 has been a tough year! Here we are though, we're in the final stretch of the year and can look back at what has been accomplished despite a global pandemic, masks as a new normal, social distancing, and stay at home orders.
Quite frankly, we were a little worried about how this year would shape up when spring was in full force. Our clients are among the most vulnerable and at the same time, providing them home repairs to allow them safety in their own home was even more critical to their own health and wellbeing.
Thank you for stepping up and volunteering, donating and cheering our small team on! Your support has enabled us to provide nearly 300 home repairs thus far. We still are not working inside homes due to the virus and being extra cautious with our clients, but we did just complete more than 40 outdoor projects in the last month alone! Those repairs have helped some of Indy's most vulnerable residents avoid big fines, unsafe conditions, and in some cases, homelessness. Even if you're looking back on 2020 not feeling overly accomplished, you can at least feel great about helping NeighborLink Indianapolis meet these needs.
I'd like to invite you to give to our Tools for 20 campaign to close us out of 2020 and put us in a good place for 2021. On average, we spend $1,000 per home. Having enough for 20 homes at the start of 2021 would be such a great start to the year. We understand if you are unable to contribute financially and appreciate your continued support in spreading the word, volunteering, and giving when you can.
Thank you for being a part of this team and for caring for Indianapolis seniors. Next year is going to be a big year.
P.S. Apparently we have shirts now. If you want to purchase a shirt for someone and support us all in one go, take a look at our options.
