Meet Peggy
Peggy's house had been patched and patched and patched again. By the time Home Repairs for Good was called in, it was a BIG job. Thankfully, our BY Plus workforce development trainees were looking for a big job to learn from. It was a win-win.

Meet Fannie Earbin
Fannie has lived in her home for decades on the westside of Indianapolis. She and her husband built a beautiful life in this home and even though he has passed, Fannie still loves the memories and makes new ones. Her expansive yard had gotten away from her after her husband's passing. Home Repairs for Good brought out a group of Marian University students to help get Fannie back on track with her gardening.

Homecoming for Ms. Adams
Charlene didn't know what to do. Her mom had had multiple strokes and now had to be in a wheelchair. Her home of 20+ years wasn't aging ready let alone accessible. Charlene and her siblings were doing what they could on the inside of the home, but the roof needed to be replaced, a ramp needed to be built, and the yard was out of control. She learned about Home Repairs for Good and from there, the sun started shining. Home Repairs for Good helps seniors and people with disabilities age in place safely by providing home repairs for free thanks to volunteers and donors in Indianapolis, Indiana.

BY Plus Work Experience with NeighborLink Indianapolis
BY Plus is an eight-week training program that provides students with the skills needed to be prepared and confident for a career in construction. The program utilizes NCCER Core Curriculum and OSHA-10 certification to provide 80 hours of coursework that blends classroom learning and hands-on performance verifications. BY Plus students also have the chance to engage in paid, hands-on work experience at work sites managed by NeighborLink Indianapolis, a nonprofit that provides home repairs for low-income seniors and individuals with disabilities who own their own home in Marion County.
