For Tauhric Brown, our work is personal.

“I remember growing up and spending my summers in Atlanta, Georgia with my grandmother,” he said. “Those summers consisted of beautifying her yard, cleaning gutters, and other things.”
It’s that early experience – caring for someone he loved through small but meaningful acts – that planted the seed for a lifelong commitment to helping older adults stay safe, independent, and comfortable in their homes.
He believes these repairs – especially when they’re proactive – are key to making aging in place a reality.
“An older adult who has preventative modifications and repairs done on their home enhances making the dream of aging in place a reality,” he said.
Now, as the newest member of the Home Repairs for Good Board of Directors, Tauhric is bringing that passion to a bigger stage – one that’s focused on both local service and larger systems change.
“Affordable housing is a critical challenge we face in our communities, state, region, and nation,” he said. “We must continue to tell a compelling story of why it is important to ensure adequate inventory and affordability of housing for older adults.”
He envisions helping Home Repairs for Good grow its partnerships – not just with other nonprofits, but with policymakers and advocates across the housing ecosystem. “I see a future where our organization expands its service area, shares and pools resources with other agencies, and tries to find a space for service delivery outside of the traditional demographics that assist individuals today, as a way to create additional revenue.”
He also believes Home Repairs for Good should have a real voice in shaping what comes next. “We should have a seat at the table as conversations are taking place around policy – to ensure prevention is a part of policy and appropriation discussions at the local, state, or federal levels.”
Tauhric currently serves as a Business & Leadership Coach and brings many years of experience in executive leadership roles, including time as the President & CEO of CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions.
We’re proud to welcome Tauhric to our Board of Directors and look forward to his contributions for many years to come!
