We’re excited to welcome Angela Hussey as our new Project Manager for the Home Repairs Program! Her passion for affordable housing and strong commitment to helping her community make her a natural fit for Home Repairs for Good.
Angela knows firsthand the challenges many homeowners face. After the 2008 housing crash, she was forced to sell her home, and renting proved to be more difficult than expected as a single parent. At the same time, she was caring for her grandmother, who lived on a small fixed income and eventually lost her home.
“I realized just how hard it was to obtain assistance for her or find affordable housing,” Angela recalls. “I know now just how important it is for older adults to stay in the house they call home.”
After her grandmother’s passing, Angela moved to Anderson, Indiana, where she began building her own tiny house—an effort, as she describes it, “to keep housing affordable, survive, and go back to school.”
Alongside these lived experiences, Angela brings over three decades of professional expertise. Since 1991, she has worked in the mortgage, real estate, and new home building industries. She holds a degree in Architecture Interior Design from Purdue University, a BA from IU Liberal Arts with a minor in Sociology, and became a Certified Permaculture Landscape Design teacher through a course in Costa Rica—reflecting her passion for innovative and sustainable building.
Today, Angela combines her personal story and professional knowledge to further our mission of providing free home repairs for older adults in Indianapolis. As Project Manager, she looks forward to growing her skills in managing community-based projects and building relationships with the generous individuals and companies who make our work possible.

“Watching the homeowners light up when they know we have made the necessary repairs to their home, whether to supply essential heat or water, or to clear a citation is what I enjoy most about the work we do.”
Resilient, caring, and deeply committed, Angela truly understands the importance of affordable housing and helping older adults age safely in place. We are thrilled to have her on our team!
